# Tuti Tuti help centre

Tuti Tuti turns a written script into a narrated video tutorial of your web app, performed on the live app in Chrome and recorded as MP4. This file is the help centre at https://tutituti.ca/help as Markdown. Tuti Tuti - powered by Pandacat.

## Getting started

Install, open the panel on your app, and make the first tutorial.

### What is Tuti Tuti?

Tuti Tuti is a Chrome extension that turns a written script into a narrated video tutorial of your web app. You write one sentence per step, the way you would explain it to a colleague. The extension works out which sentences click, which ones point, and which ones only talk, then performs them on the live app with a human cursor, a spotlight, captions, and a narrator, and records the MP4.

It drives the real product, not screenshots of it. When the app changes, you change a sentence and export again.

### How do I install it?

Follow the [install page](https://tutituti.ca/install). Tuti Tuti is a Chrome extension; it also runs in Microsoft Edge and other Chromium browsers.

- Add it from the store, or load it unpacked while the store listing is pending.
- Pin it: puzzle piece at the right of the address bar, then the pin next to Tuti Tuti.
- Open your own web app, click the Tuti Tuti icon, and the editor opens in the side panel beside the page.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=getting-started#install

### How do I make my first tutorial?

Four moves.

- Open your app in Chrome and open the Tuti Tuti panel.
- Press **New tutorial from this page** and paste a script, or write one: one sentence per step, naming things exactly as they appear on screen.
- Press **Rehearse**. The extension walks every sentence and marks any it could not place with a red flag.
- Fix the flags by rewording or by pointing at the element, then press **Play**. When it looks right, press **Export**.

The fastest way to get a script is to give the prompt on the [home page](https://tutituti.ca/#how) to whichever AI knows your app.

### Which apps does it work on?

Any page you can open in Chrome: your production app, staging, localhost, and apps behind a login, since you are signed in already. It works best on apps whose buttons and fields have the names a person would say; the [app guide](https://tutituti.ca/app-guide) explains how to make that true in an afternoon.

Native iOS and Android apps are on the roadmap.

### What can I do on Free?

Everything you need to try it on your own app: install, write, rehearse, the assistant, the rework file, the guides, and the MCP server. Playback previews the first minute of a tutorial with a trial stamp on screen. Export is part of Pro. See [pricing](https://tutituti.ca/pricing).

## Writing scripts

One sentence per beat, named the way things appear on screen.

### What does a script look like?

Plain text. Chapters are separated by blank lines, each with a short unspoken title line on top. Every sentence is one beat.

- Each chapter opens with a transition, which is narration: "Now let's take a look at the warehouse map."
- Every screen change is its own sentence, starting with an action verb and the exact on-screen label plus where it is: "Click New warehouse at the top right."
- Typed values start with "For example," and sit in quotes: "For example, type "Main floor" into the Name field."

The [script guide](https://tutituti.ca/guide) has every rule and a complete example.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=writing-scripts#script-shape

### How does it decide whether a sentence clicks, points, or just talks?

Tested rules, not a model. A sentence that starts with an action verb and names a control is an **act** beat: click, type, hover, draw, or drag. A sentence that describes something on screen ("Here you'll see the new warehouse") is a **show** beat: the cursor moves there and the spotlight rings it. Everything else is a **say** beat: narration only.

Because the rules are deterministic, playback is the same every time and never waits on a model. You can see exactly how a script will be read with the MCP tool tuti_parse_script.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=writing-scripts#act-show-say

### How should I name a button or a field?

Use the exact label the app shows, with the same capitalisation, and say where it is: "Click Save at the bottom of the form." Avoid pronouns and place words as targets ("click it", "click here"): say the name again.

If two controls share a label, add the location, or make the label unique in the app. The single most important skill in the whole craft is section 8 of the [script guide](https://tutituti.ca/guide).

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=writing-scripts#naming-things

### Why must I open a menu before referring to what is inside it?

The extension can only click what is on the page. If a sentence names an item inside a closed menu, nothing matches and the beat is flagged. Write the opening as its own sentence first ("Open the Settings menu at the top right"), then the item ("Click Billing"). This holds in every chapter, because chapters are rehearsed and exported on their own.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=writing-scripts#menus-first

### How do I type into a field?

Start the sentence with "For example," and put the value in quotes, then name the field: "For example, type "Main floor" into the Name field." The narrator says the sentence, the cursor goes to the field, and the value is typed character by character. Ask for the owner's real demo values rather than invented ones; they are what the app will show.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=writing-scripts#typing-values

### Which words should I avoid in narration?

Write for the ear. Spell acronyms as they are spoken ("S K U" if that is how your team says it), avoid & and / in narration, and put nothing in brackets. Numbers and dates are read as written, so write them the way you would say them. The guide's section 2 lists the rules; the MCP checker flags any sentence the voice would read badly.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=writing-scripts#spoken-word

### Can my AI write the script for me?

Yes, and it is the fastest start. Copy the prompt on the [home page](https://tutituti.ca/#how) and give it to whichever AI knows your app, with the screens to cover and the demo values to type. It writes the whole script in the right shape.

If your AI tool speaks MCP, connect it to our [MCP server](https://tutituti.ca/mcp) and it can check the script against the same rules the extension uses before you paste a word.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=writing-scripts#ai-writes-script

### Can it draw or drag?

Yes. "Draw a rectangle on the floor plan from the top left to the middle" presses, holds, moves, and releases. "Drag the Chairs item onto the Main floor warehouse" picks one thing up and drops it on another. Both need the surfaces and items to be labelled; sections 5.3 and 5.4 of the [script guide](https://tutituti.ca/guide) show the phrasing.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=writing-scripts#drawing-dragging

## Rehearsing and fixing

What the red flags mean and how to clear them.

### What does Rehearse do?

It performs the script without recording, faster than playback, and tells you where the words and the page disagree. Every beat ends green (placed), amber (placed, with a note), or red (nothing matched). Rehearse again after any change; it only re-checks what you changed.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=rehearsing#what-rehearse-does

### Why does a beat show a red flag?

Nothing on the page matched the words in that sentence. The usual causes, in order:

- The label is not exact. Copy it from the screen.
- The control is inside a menu, dialog, or tab that an earlier sentence did not open.
- Two things share the label and the sentence does not say where.
- The control is drawn on a canvas or an image and has no name. The [app guide](https://tutituti.ca/app-guide) says how to give it one.

Reword the sentence, or press **Point** and click the element on the page; the beat is pinned to it. Red flags block export until they are cleared.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=rehearsing#red-flag

### It asked me which of two things I meant.

Two controls share a label. Pick one for now, then make the sentence unambiguous (add a location) or make the label unique in the app so it never asks again. If you switch on a second opinion under Checks, the model settles look-alike picks during rehearsal.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=rehearsing#which-one

### What is Point?

A way to tell Tuti Tuti exactly which element a sentence means. Press Point on the beat, then click the element on the page. The beat is pinned to that element and keeps the pin as long as the sentence's target does not change.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=rehearsing#point

### What is the rework file?

After a rehearsal, step 05 in the panel downloads a JSON report of every beat that needed help: the sentence, what was found, the fix for the script, and the fix for the app. Give it to whatever AI is building your app and ask for the rewrite. One pass, and the app and the script agree. Section 16 of the [script guide](https://tutituti.ca/guide) describes the format.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=rehearsing#rework-file

### My app changed and the tutorial broke. What now?

Rehearse the chapter that changed, fix the sentence or point at the new element, and export that chapter alone. The script is what you keep; the video is regenerated. This is the reason to write tutorials as scripts rather than record them.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=rehearsing#page-changed

### What are the Checks, and do they slow playback?

Checks are an optional second opinion during rehearsal: Chrome's on-device model, or a cloud model if you switch it on, settles look-alike picks and reviews drawings before they happen. They never run during playback or export, so a tutorial plays the same every time and never waits on a model.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=rehearsing#checks

## Playback and export

The cursor, the spotlight, captions, the trial stamp, and the MP4.

### What does playback show?

A human cursor that eases to each target, a spotlight ring on the element, captions synced word by word to the voice, and the narration. Typing appears character by character. You can watch it in the tab while it runs.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=playback-export#what-play-shows

### Where do exported videos go?

Your Downloads folder, as MP4, named after the tutorial and chapter. They never leave your computer.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=playback-export#export-where

### Can I export one chapter at a time?

Yes. The Export button has two choices: the whole tutorial as one file, or one file per chapter. Export chapter by chapter when you expect the app to change, so a change to one screen means one short re-render.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=playback-export#export-chapters

### Chrome says it needs permission to record the tab.

Right-click the page and choose "Allow Tuti Tuti to record this tab", then press Export again. Chrome asks once per tab.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=playback-export#record-permission

### How do I stop an export that is running?

A red **Stop recording** button stays pinned at the top of the panel while an export runs. Press it and the recording ends at that point; what was recorded is saved.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=playback-export#stop-recording

### Why does a red TRIAL VERSION appear while I play?

You are on the Free plan. Playback previews the first minute so you can see your app narrate itself; the stamp appears at irregular moments and places so a screen recording of it cannot be passed off as a finished video. Pro removes it, plays the whole tutorial, and switches export on.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=playback-export#trial-stamp

### How does the privacy blur work?

Mark fields or regions to blur once, and they stay blurred through playback and in the export, including under open sheets and dialogs and while the page scrolls. Placeholders in empty fields are blurred too. The blur is a convenience, not a guarantee: check the video before you publish it.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=playback-export#privacy-blur

### What resolution and frame rate is the video?

The export records the tab at its current size, so set the browser window to the size you want the video to be. A maximised window on a 1080p display gives a 1080p file. Keep the tab in the foreground while it records.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=playback-export#export-quality

## Voice and captions

Narration, timing, and the browser voice.

### How do I pick a narrator?

Under **Look & voice** in the panel, choose a voice once. It is kept for every tutorial until you change it. Clips are generated once and cached; only a sentence you change is made again, so re-renders cost almost nothing against the allowance. Pro includes 300 minutes of Tuti Tuti narration a month, shown as a ring on your dashboard; it resets on the first of the month. Need more? Packs of 100 or 300 minutes are bought once from the dashboard, never expire, and are used after the allowance.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=voice#pick-voice

### Why can't I export with the browser voice?

Chrome does not let its built-in voice be recorded. It is fine for playback, and free. For export, pick a narrator under Look & voice, and the recording mixes that voice into the audio track.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=voice#browser-voice

### Can I use my own voice?

Not by recording into a microphone: the recorder needs the generated clips to keep the timing exact. Where your voice service offers voice cloning, a cloned voice is picked like any other narrator.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=voice#own-voice

### Can I turn captions off, or change how they look?

Yes. Captions, the cursor style, and the spotlight are under Look & voice. Captions are synced word by word to the voice when the voice provides timing.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=voice#captions

### Does it narrate in French or other languages?

Narration is whatever language the script is written in, in a voice for that language. Write the French script as its own tutorial; the labels in the sentences must match the labels the app shows in that language.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=voice#languages

## The assistant

Ask Tuti Tuti to rewrite, add, or reorder beats.

### What can the assistant do?

The bar at the foot of the panel takes an instruction, typed or spoken: "in the beat with the dialog, type the Vancouver address", "add a chapter that fills in the form top to bottom", "move the export chapter to the end". It rewrites, adds, removes, or reorders beats to the script rules and shows the change before applying it. It can see the controls on the page you have open, so it names fields the way the app does.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=assistant#what-assistant-does

### Does it remember the conversation?

Yes, within the panel. Follow-ups refer to the last instruction, and you can open the chat larger to see the last twenty exchanges. For very long scripts, it focuses on the chapter you are working in.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=assistant#assistant-memory

### How do I switch the assistant on?

It uses a cloud model, switched on under **04 Checks** in the panel. Nothing you type reaches our servers; the request goes from your browser to the model you chose.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=assistant#assistant-switch-on

## AI tools and MCP

Connect Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client, and the machine-readable feeds.

### How do I connect my AI tool to Tuti Tuti?

Tuti Tuti runs a Model Context Protocol server at https://tutituti.ca/api/mcp. No key, no account.

- Claude Code: `claude mcp add --transport http tuti-tuti https://tutituti.ca/api/mcp`
- Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, Zed: add a server with that URL in the client's MCP settings.

The [MCP page](https://tutituti.ca/mcp) has the exact config for each.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=ai-tools#connect-mcp

### Which tools does the MCP server offer?

- **tuti_script_guide**: the whole script guide.
- **tuti_app_guide**: what to build into the app so scripts land first time.
- **tuti_example_script**: a complete tour in the exact format.
- **tuti_parse_script**: parses a script with the extension's own rules.
- **tuti_check_script**: returns warnings per beat with the fix.
- **tuti_help**: searches this help centre.

Resources expose the guides, the example, and the help centre as text.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=ai-tools#mcp-tools

### Is there a machine-readable version of the docs?

Yes, so any AI agent or crawler can read what people read.

- [/llms.txt](https://tutituti.ca/llms.txt): a short map of the site for language models.
- [/help.md](https://tutituti.ca/help.md): this whole help centre as Markdown.
- [/api/help](https://tutituti.ca/api/help): the same as JSON; add `?q=words` to search.
- The script guide and app guide are also served as Markdown by the MCP resources.

Every help answer is also in the page's FAQ structured data.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=ai-tools#machine-readable

### My AI is building the app. How do I make it tutorial-ready?

Paste the paragraph at the end of the [app guide](https://tutituti.ca/app-guide) into your project's instructions (CLAUDE.md, .cursorrules, or the equivalent). It asks for the things a script needs: a name a person would say on every control, unique labels per screen, fields that say what they are, dialogs that announce themselves, and a demo state. It is plain accessibility, and it is what lets a script land first time.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=ai-tools#ai-builds-app

### Does the MCP server store what I send?

No. Scripts sent to the parser or the checker are processed in memory and returned; nothing is stored or logged. The [privacy policy](https://tutituti.ca/privacy) says so in writing.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=ai-tools#data-mcp

## Account and billing

Sign-in, Pro, invoices, cancelling, and deleting.

### How does sign-in work?

Sign in on tutituti.ca with a passkey (Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or your phone), with Google, Apple, or a Microsoft work account, or with a six-digit code sent to your email. There are no passwords. Add a passkey from your account's Profile page after the first sign-in; the email code keeps working on any device. Inside the extension, press **Sign in** at the top of the panel; it opens the site for a moment and signs the extension in as you.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=account-billing#sign-in

### How do I go Pro, and what does it cost?

From your [account page](https://tutituti.ca/account): monthly at $40 CAD or $30 USD, or yearly at $200 CAD or $150 USD, plus applicable taxes. Checkout adds the taxes for your location and accepts promotion codes. Pro removes the trial stamp, plays tutorials in full, switches export on, and includes 300 minutes of Tuti Tuti narration a month.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=account-billing#go-pro

### Is there a refund?

No. There is no refund, in whole or in part. Free lets you rehearse and preview on your own app, so try it there before you subscribe. You can cancel any time; Pro runs to the end of the period you paid for.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=account-billing#no-refund

### How do I cancel?

On your [account page](https://tutituti.ca/account), **Manage subscription** opens the billing portal for the card, invoices, switching between monthly and yearly, and cancelling. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the paid period; the account then returns to Free.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=account-billing#cancel

### Can a company or a government department pay by invoice?

Yes. Write to support@pandacat.ca with the number of seats. We send a quote and an invoice in Canadian dollars with taxes itemised, on net thirty terms, and accept purchase orders. Organisations buy one seat per person who uses the extension.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=account-billing#invoice

### How do I delete my account?

From the bottom of your [account page](https://tutituti.ca/account), or see [deleting your account](https://tutituti.ca/delete-account). It cancels any subscription and removes your account and usage records for good. Your tutorials stay in your browser until you remove the extension.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=account-billing#delete-account

### What does my account actually store?

Your email, your name, your sign-in method, your plan, the setup choices you made, a count of the seconds of video you have exported, and a reference to your billing customer if you subscribe. Nothing else. No scripts, no recordings, no page content.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=account-billing#export-counting

## Privacy and Canada

Where data lives, what leaves, and what public-sector buyers ask.

### Where is my data stored?

Recordings, scripts, and tutorials stay in your browser and your Downloads folder. Your account record is held by us in Google Cloud's Montréal region, and connections to tutituti.ca are received in Canada. The [privacy policy](https://tutituti.ca/privacy) has the full map.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=privacy-canada#where-data

### Does anything leave Canada?

Two things, both named in the policy: if you choose Sign in with Google, Google confirms your identity from the United States; and payment details go to Stripe. Narration text goes to the voice service you use, directly from your browser. Nothing about your app reaches our servers.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=privacy-canada#what-leaves-canada

### Is it written to PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25?

Yes. The [privacy policy](https://tutituti.ca/privacy) names the Privacy Officer who is also the person in charge under Quebec law, states the legal bases, lists every service provider with its country, commits to notice before a provider is added, and records the Law 25 transfer assessment. Both the policy and the [terms](https://tutituti.ca/terms) are published in English and French.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=privacy-canada#pipeda-law25

### Is it suitable for government and public-sector teams?

Yes. Account data stays in Canada, recordings never leave the maker's workstation, seats can be bought by purchase order and invoice in CAD, and the terms carry a section for organisations and public bodies: cooperation with privacy impact assessments, security documentation on request, and a written agreement that prevails. See [Government of Canada](https://tutituti.ca/government-of-canada) and [provincial and municipal](https://tutituti.ca/provincial-and-municipal-government).

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=privacy-canada#government

### How is the account protected?

No passwords to steal: sign-in is Google or a single-use code that expires in ten minutes. Records are encrypted in transit and at rest, replicated across data centres in one Canadian region, and only the server can read them. Section 13 of the [privacy policy](https://tutituti.ca/privacy) lists the program in full, including how we notify you of an incident.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=privacy-canada#security

## Troubleshooting

When something does not behave.

### The panel does not open on my page.

Chrome does not allow extensions on its own pages (chrome://, the Web Store) or on some PDF and file views. Open a normal web page. If the panel opens but shows nothing, reload the tab once; the extension reconnects to the page when it loads.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=troubleshooting#panel-not-opening

### The cursor lands on the wrong element.

Rehearse the beat and look at the note: usually two elements share the label. Add a location to the sentence or press Point. If the page is zoomed, set the browser zoom back to 100% before exporting; the cursor follows the page's own coordinates.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=troubleshooting#cursor-off

### It typed into the wrong field.

Name the field by its label, not its placeholder, and say where it is: "into the Name field at the top of the form". If the field has no visible label, the [app guide](https://tutituti.ca/app-guide) shows how to give it one in one line.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=troubleshooting#typing-wrong-field

### The export has no sound.

Pick a narrator under Look & voice; the browser's built-in voice cannot be recorded. Make sure the tab is not muted in Chrome, and that the voice clips had finished generating before you pressed Export (the panel shows when they are ready).

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=troubleshooting#export-silent

### Rehearsal is slow.

Rehearsal waits for the page like a person would, and runs the Checks if you switched them on. Turn Checks off for a quick pass, and rehearse one chapter at a time while you fix flags. Playback and export are never slowed by Checks.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=troubleshooting#slow-rehearsal

### How do I update the extension?

From the store it updates itself. If you loaded it unpacked, download the new build, replace the folder, and press the reload icon on chrome://extensions. Your tutorials and settings are kept.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=troubleshooting#update-extension

### Nothing here fits. How do I reach a person?

Write to support@pandacat.ca. A person answers within a business day, sooner for Pro. Include the script, the page you were on, and what the panel said; a screenshot of the red flag helps.

Permalink: https://tutituti.ca/help?cat=troubleshooting#contact
